I just traded some optics in and got a pair of demo Zeiss Victory SF 10x42 binos. I know I could spend the money for Outdoorsmans to install a stud and buy the bino mount. All in all for that and another stud for my 15s it was $175 plus shipping. I'm sure that would be a good way to go but trying to save money for a baby on the way I decided to make my own universal type mount.

The bottom is a piece of 1/4" plastic with slots cut out for the grosgrain. I had more grosgrain than webbing laying around so I used that. I made sure it would lock up with the connector before I sewed everything together. I glued a piece of 1/4” foam on the base. I sewed the same foam to the grosgrain. The end of the grosgrain a piece of gutted paracord to pull everything tight. For the bottom I just drilled a hole and threaded the tripod head base in. I put some gorilla super glue on the threads and base to hopefully reinforce that.

I have a cheap digital hanging scale. I weighed it a couple times and came up with 2.3 oz each time. The best part is I had all this stuff laying around so it didn't cost me anything. It works with both my 15s and my 10x42s.

It also fits perfect in the basement compartment of the AGC bino harness.

Awesome. I remember when my kids were born. You find out how ingenious you really are.

Awesome! I was just looking into this. Could you post a couple more angles, I'd love to replicate it.

Fishinsimpson I can post some more pics. Sorry I didn't see this earlier.

I'm not sure why pics aren't showing up. I see them on my end, but I have noticed a few threads today haven't had pics where they were supposed to.

Here are a couple more pics. I'm going to make another one so I'll take some pictures as I build it and post them.

Cool, I just bought the Bushnell for my 8s that don't have a threaded hole, works the same way, i'd like to modify the buckles that came with it.

I made a similar on in January this year after I got tired of fighting getting the binos Into the pouch with my rick white adapter and didn't want to buy a different one. Mine weighs 1 oz without the quick release adapter. I will have to weigh it with that on. I'll try to remember to post a picture tomorrow from the computer. I used a piece of plywood, Velcro and one of the nits that has spikes in 3 or 4 directions that flush mounts.

Weighed with the base plate at 2.3 oz and 1 oz with no base plate. I made a rifle rest that attaches to my tripod also so I don't need to carry a bipod.

Sorry I've been a bit busy and haven't got around to making another one yet. My little boy will be here Wednesday....or sooner. I'll get one built and post back on this thread showing how I build them. I'm building one for a set of Cabelas Euros 15x56 that my mom and dad got for my moms mountain goat hunt this year.

I got it from a member here that lived in the same town as me. I originally got it to build a frame sheet for a kifaru bikini frame. Its 1/4" thick. I'm not sure what kind of plastic it is. The guy works at a sign shop and he got it from work if I remember right. Sorry I'm not much help. I'm sure it would work with any sturdy rigid plastic. If you know anyone with a 3d printer, you could have one 3d printed. Check out this thread.

That is a pretty slick mount he build.
