NM Unit 45 Oct 12-16

Lucked on and finally drew and Elk tag. Unit 45 Oct 12-16. I'll be hunting the Pecos Wilderness area. Does anyone have any advice for this area? I will be packing in, don't have horses but I am looking at that option.
