2011 Yukon liftgate issue.

My wife has a 2011 yukon. Today my 17yr old son opened the liftgate to get something and it started to close on him. When he felt it on his back he gave it a good push back as he thought it might crunch him. Now the dash says "rear liftgate open" and all the interior lights stay on like it's open. And the automatic opener doesn't work. You can open it, just have to do it manually. I have done some reading and it said to just unhook the battery and it will clear out. Well that didn't work. Any ideas?

Google and YouTube would be my go to.

Airbag light came on in my wife’s armada yesterday. A few Google searches later I raised up the passenger seat 2” and the light went off. Something kinked the harness. YouTube and Google have cost the dealerships a lot of $$$$.
