Robby Denning
Robby Denning started hunting mule deer in the late 1970’s, only missing one season in 35 years. At 25, he gave up the pursuit of all other big-game to focus on taking the best bucks possible. He began hunting the West on a DIY budget hunting an average of 30 days a year for mule deer. Robby loves the hunt as much as the kill and the entire process from research to scouting to hunting. He’s killed four bucks over 200 inches in the last 15 seasons, mostly on easily-obtained tags. He owns a public-land scouting service and runs a private-land outfitting business helping other hunters in their pursuit of deer and elk. Robby has scouted and hunted literally thousands of square miles of mule deer country and brings a wealth of knowledge about these experiences with him. To him, the weapon of choice is just a means-to-an-end and will hunt with bow, rifle, or muzzleloader – whatever it takes to create an opportunity to take a great mule deer. He is also the author of "Hunting Big Mule Deer" available on Amazon. Robby believes all of creation is from God for man to manage, respect, and through which to know its Creator

1. Robby You Rock with all these great giveaways.

If I were to win the Revelation I would be using it here in Alaska during the summer for prospecting and in the fall for moose hunting. Thanks for the chance.

2. I’d be using this on a week long elk trip to CO this September, and overnighters here in AZ for deer!

3. Robby,

If I won the revelation It would be replacing an old army surplus bag and would accompany me on Oregon spring bear, archery mule deer and late season elk hunts!

4. If I won the Revelation it would be keeping me warm at treeline in the Rocky’s while being sung to sleep by the sweet lullaby of bull elk bugling to their harem and other potential suitors.

5. IF I won the quilt, my little girl would be using it this fall when she tags along on my deer hunt.

6. Wow, I love the Synthetic Quilt, it’s PERFECT for when we go up to Old Forge. The temps can start out at 50-60 degrees and dip into the single digits at night, very suddenly! Thanks for a great review!!

7. I can’t wait to get a good night’s sleep in Wyoming’s elk archery season using a quilt. Hopefully no more borrowing a bag. Thanks again for awesome product giveaway.

8. I would use this quilt pretty much as in the review, in my new hammock outfit hunting elk and deer this fall in Idaho. Thank you Enlightened Equipment and Rok Slide for putting this together.

9. I would use it for elk, a planned “above tree line” deer hunt in a couple years, and family camping trips

10. I have been want to try a quilt for a really long time now but if I happened to win I would love to use it on my late season elk hunt.

11. I have a 20 revelation, the 10 degree bag would give me a little extra range in Colorado this fall as well as som late eason archery hunts in mMissouri.

12. If I won…

Me and my quilt would start our love affair in August chasing high country bears in the Cascades, then we would head west for September elk on Olympic Peninsula, followed by the Hells Canyon breaks for deer in October, and finishing out the season chasing mountain lions in the Selkirks. If the love is not lost by the end of this honeymoon, we would do it all again next year. 🙂

13. I was contemplating trying to make my own quilt but these EE quilts look way too good. I’d be using mine backpack hunting in south-central Montana and the Bob for elk and mule deer. Thanks to EE and Rokslide for putting this together!!

14. I’d be using it for over twenty days in the field split from Washington bear to Colorado Elk!

15. If I were to win the quilt, I would use it on my Colorado elk hunt in the back country, as well as a trip to South Dakota for whitetail in November. It can get cold in SD in November!

16. Us folks in the NW are so glad there is a synthetic option. This would be with me all summer scouting (first year Kifaru tarp user), leading a buddy on our first backpack high country buck hunt and solo backpack elk hunt.

17. I would definitely love to use a revelation quilt for a backpack hunt in the Wilmore Wilderness in Alberta, Canada. I’ve had the pleasure of talking to Tim and using EE gear previously, and would definitely recommend it for ANYONE looking for a lightweight quilt.

18. The quilt will allow me to sleep like a man and not a mummy on my backcountry elk and deer hunts in Utah.

19. I would use this for high country adventures in Wyoming as well as camping with my wife this summer.

20. Thank you so much for all of these great gear giveaways! I would put the quilt to use winter camping and; hopefully, out on a mule deer or elk trip. Thanks again!

21. The Links after the MSR stove do not have the precise instructions, as mentioned. Are those to come or do we respond in the comments section the same as with this one?

Thanks,

MT

22. I would love to try a quilt again. The zippered foot box looks like it would take care of the issue I had the first time around. Elk hunting in November would be a great test .

23. To be honest, it would probably be my wife who would end up using the quilt…

24. I would use this quilt on my British Columbia mountain goat hunt this fall. Never know, might have to stick it out a night or two on a cliff waiting for the right opportunity.

25. This would be awesome for my colorado drop camp muzzleloader elk hunt!!! Also hoping to pull a bear tag and possibly deer to add to the fun out there. Good luck to all.

26. I hope to be using this quilt while chasing elk in the snowy mountain range in southern wyoming this fall.
Thanks Robby

27. I might just give it to my dad. With his snoring it would be a good sneaky way to get him out of the tent!

28. I would love to have this quilt for my spring black bear hunt and my August Dall Sheep hunt! Just the right size too!

29. I love my EE quilt, but I need something warmer, like this 10 degree version which should help combat the cold treatment I will get from my wife when she sees this months credit card statement 🙂

30. Hey Robby, I would use this quilt in Montana this year and on my spring fishing trips to make the guys jealous of my sweet new bag that I won!

31. This falls muzzle-loader deer and hopefully LE elk hunt. I would be great to see how comfy a quilt would be!

32. No matter what, by hunting season I’ll have an EE quilt for blacktail deer and elk hunting. A free one from Rokslide would be epic!

33. If I was to win this I would put it to good use on my first diy elk hunt this year. If my ole man is still up for it I’ll follow up my first trip with a second trip to Montana on a general tag elk hunt.

34. I have one Revelation and so far love it. I plan to use if for everything for the upcoming season, only altering what I wear under it depending upon the season. I would use a second one for my wife, so that she doesn’t want to take mine when we are out in the woods together. 🙂

35. If I win this, it’ll get some use in south western B.C. For mule deer and south eastern B.C. For elk.

36. If I were to win the quilt I woul use in western NM chasing elk, central NM chasing mule deer, and southern NM for hogs and turkey.

pat

37. wow what prize. have an ee and love it but always room for one more, and this one is heavier and will get me out in the cooler temps. thanks for having this contest minus facebook

38. Quilt would actually be given to my father for our upcoming hunts chasing these guys:

And one of these:

39. I would use the quilt to protect me from grizzly bears in the middle of the night on my elk hunting trip to SW Montana this fall.

40. I would give it to my wife to keep her toasty warm on those cold winter nights and then steel it in the fall for hunting.

41. I’d use this for my Elk hunts, as well as a few turkey hunts and certainly for any backpacking trips I with my local scouts. I also use a hammock so this would be perfect! I’ve heard nothing but good things about Enlightened Equipment quilts.

42. Spring bear, Wyoming High-Country Deer, Utah Late Elk! Sure would be nice to pair with my Hennessy Hammock!!

43. Have never used or seen a quilt, this would be a great way to try one. Would use it this spring in Colorado on a family trip. Then other people would get to see one too.

44. I too am a hammocker and I’d use it for my upcoming Colorado elk hunt (fingers crossed for October 1st rifle quota permit!!!) and for my local whitetail hunting camp. I also sleep out in the back yard a good bit, so it’ll get used there as well.

45. If i was blessed enough to win a quilt I would use it for hunting out west with my oldest son who is 14 and is dying to go hunting with me.

46. I would give this a try on a black bear spot and stalk hunt this spring then a few fishing trips and whatever tags I luck into this fall.

47. I’ve been seriously considering going the quilt route. What better way than with a free one:) This would be mainly used for backcountry archery elk hunts

48. I’d use this quilt scouting in the summer, and hunting bear and deer in the wetter months up here in WA.

49. Thanks for the awesome prizes rokslide, if I won I would give it to my buddy Clinton, he is always borrowing my gear haha

50. This is another great Rokslide contest. Thanks!
I’d use the EE quilt on my Washington backcountry mule deer hunt and on my 1st trip to Idaho for mule deer this fall.

51. if i won the quilt it would go great with my hammock for elk, deer and bear seaons as well as camping with the family.!!! Thank you for the opportunity and God Bless!

52. I’d use the quilt on a CO backpacking trip I plan to take later this year and for elk hunting as well! Thanks for the chance.

53. DAng Mr. Denning. You always give me awesome insight to some great gear and have lightened my pack a ton! I would use the quilt in Idaho on my opening week high country mule deer hunt. I can’t wait to read the rest of the reviews.

54. I would use the quilt in my new Cimarron tent I bought from Seek Outside. I will be Elk hunting in Colorado.

55. I would love to put this quilt to the test hunting spring bear, during summer scouting trips, and Archery elk season this fall!
Spring bear starts soon!

56. If I won the Revelation it would be in my pack this fall chasing elk and deer in Montana! Would love to upgrade to a quilt from EE.

57. Would love this quilt for some back country fishing trips this spring and then on the deer hunts this fall.

58. I would love this set up to hunt with my family (wife and 2 young boys) in the high country of Utah and Wyoming for Elk and Mule Deer

59. Haven’t been 100% happy with my current sleep system. Been contemplating a quilt for a while. It would come to good use at 8,0000 ft as I chase elk in September.

60. I’d use the quilt while exploring nearby mountains in the summer and for elk hunting in the fall

61. I had planned on taking a 6 pound sleeping bag that I already own on my 2015 Alaska Moose Drop Camp (first Alaska hunt), but that really eats into my 50 pound weight limit. If I am so fortunate as to win this contest, my partner will be forever grateful that the weight savings allow me to take a clean pair of underwear, clean socks, and perhaps a small amount of toothpaste/powder. Otherwise, it’s going to be a loooong 14 days in the bush for him!

Congrats on the success of your business EE! You seem to have a very loyal following, which can only come from a great product.

62. If I were to win the Revelation Quilt from Enlightened Equipment I know I would be using it while backpacking for turkeys in the spring then mule deer and elk in the fall then finally on my sheep hunt in 2017, but let’s get real I know my wife would end up making it her own and I would have to purchase another one!!

63. I will use this camping with my family, scouting, and hunting both archery and rifle sessions in Colorado. Maybe a fall turkey hunt as well!

64. Thanks, if I won I would use it this fall in the mountians of CA hunting for bear and mule deer and next fall elk hunting.

65. I would use the quilt all summer scouting for elk in anticipation of my fall archery elk hunt here in CO!

66. The revelation quilt would be perfect for my central MT elk hunt this fall! Thanks for the opportunity.

67. I’d use the revelation on a muzzleloader hunt this September in the Elk Mtns of Colorado. I’m a side sleeper, so really looking forward to giving quilts a try.

68. If I were to win the EE quilt I would use it to chase elk, mule deer, and just have fun in the blue mountains of Oregon.

69. I would be using this in MT for an elk hunt, Canada in 2016 for a moose hunt and where ever I can when camping. I would love to have this for me and my son on fathers day weekend annual camping trip to northern WI on the Turtle Flambeau island camping/fishing trip. Not sure why I am listed as a guest as I have had an account for a while now.

Thanks

Chris Schwarz

70. If I were to win this quilt I’d give my other one (because this one is camo and cooler) to my girlfriend and we will use it this summer/early fall on getting her, her first bear.

71. I think I already commented but anyhow… Just ordered an EE quilt but if i win this it means my wife will be as comfortable as me this fall! 😉

72. I will use this quilt while chasing elk in Central Idaho during archery season. Thanks for the chance to participate!

73. If I won I would be using this in British Columbia to hunt Bighorn and Stone’s sheep this summer and fall!!

74. I would use the quilt as a sleeping bag when camping with my Scout Troop. I am a stomach-sleeper and thus a ground-dweller. Many of the other adult leaders and some of my Scouts are Tree-Dwellers (hammock users). This quilt would be perfect for our Troop’s upcoming trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM.

75. I’d use it every chance I get this year. From family camping trips to diy solo hunts in the Midwest!

76. I’d use the revelation throughout the year, solo or in conjunction with something else as necessary, enjoying the weight reduction.

77. With this quilt, I will be able to push into the minus grades in conjunction with a down-filled quilt without concern for condensation.

78. I would be giving it to my father because he is stuck on a less than mentionable budget for his hunting gear. His current sleeping bag is way too big and way too heavy and he’s always complaining of being cold at night. Thanks for the chance for me to enter on his behalf.

79. My grandson has always used a quilt more than a bag (my quilt). With this I could have me a nice quilt, or at least get mine back. He uses the quilt whether hunting hogs in Texas or camping in the high country.

80. I’ll love to use this chasing mule deer in Sept in CO and backpacking summer long in my RR hammock….Nice to ditch the cheap home made one 🙂 Thanks!

81. I have a 30* EE quilt, and winning a 10* one would round out my kit nicely. Obviously, I’d use it for late season elk/deer hunts!

82. Thanks again guys! I’ve never won a giveaway here, but I appreciate them!

I’d use mine for lots of backpacking and hunting all over.

83. Andrew, maybe it’s gonna be your luck day. About two weeks until we draw.

I really like reading all the comments and seeing the diversity of hunters on the Rok Blog.

84. If I were to win the quilt I’d be using it on all my early season archery hunts. High country mule deer here I come!

85. Thanks for the great opportunity to win this quilt and highlighting these great pieces of gear. If I won a quilt from Enlightened Equipment, I’d use it here in North Idaho as much as possible. It would be a great addition to my kit, especially when it comes time to break out my Kifaru Sawtooth (any time is a good time…it’s ALWAYS a good time!). I like the versatility of a quilt and the comfort that they provide. I’ve never tried one before…so the timing is about right!

86. It’ll be used this year in CO for elk, deer, and bear. UT for elk. AZ for another elk hunt. AK for a fishing and caribou hunt. And hopefully if the draw is friendly, NV, MT, and ID. Plus multi backpacking trips and wild land deployments this summer.

87. This is a much needed upgrade to my kit that will be getting this year or next. If I were to win this quilt I would use it for all
My outdoor excursions from fishing to backpack scouting and hunting. Still waiting to see what tags I have drawn.

88. I’ve got an archery elk hunt in CO this year that I’m sure the EE would come in real handy. Thanks for the chance to win.

89. I would use it for colorado archery elk with my daughter, I’m sure she would take it over too.

90. I have some elkhunts lined up with friends this fall and would love to try a quilt out, thanks for the chance!

91. I would use your quilt as an over quilt in my hammock. Thanks for the chance and good luck everyone!

92. I would use your quilt as a top quilt for my hammock. Thanks for the chance to win and good luck everyone!

93. I’d use it for my Colorado elk hunt this coming fall, and I’d also use it camping for waterfowl here in Michigan.

94. I could put it to use this summer on high country scouting trips and this fall chasing big bucks and bulls in the Rockies.

95. I have been sleeping in a hammock on and off since the early 90’s when I used to sleep in a mesh one used in the jungles. If I win it would be used for my many hunting and fishing adventures here in the GNW.

96. The Revelation Quilt would join me on my first Elk hunt and first hunting experience in MT – Bob Marshall Wilderness!

97. I would use it on back ou try hikes and my annual backpack hunting trip in the Adirondacks, as well as during archaeological field surveys in Greece.

98. I hope to get drawn for a November Gila deer hunt this year and would love to be warm on it with one of the enlighten equipment quilts
