“Five years from now, you’ll be the same person you are now except for the people you meet and the books you read”—Tremendous Charlie Jones
Here’s your chance to read a great book. Today’s guest is David Knight, co-author of “Hunting in Today’s Wild West:Hunting Mule Deer and All the Other Game of the Mountain West.”
Robby hosts his friend of 27 years, David Knight. They first meet in 1996 when David’s father, Mike, had bought him an Idaho Deer Tag for his High School Graduation present. Robby spent a half a day with them and their friendship was born.
David recently released his first book, “Hunting in Today’s Wild West”
The book is written by today’s guest, his father, and his son—three generations of hunters hunting across the West for multiple species with all 3 weapon types
It’s a face-paced read with over 50 short stories of big game hunts from mule deer, to elk, to pronghorn, to bear, and more
Some of Robby’s favorite stories were of course the 180” Idaho buck, the 30” stag buck taken at the last seconds of light on the last day on the only 10 acres in the unit David could hunt the story tilted “The Hardest Hunt” when the author tagged the only buck left in the unit after the migration.
The “Guide Stories” by his dad Mike are great and will thoroughly entertain. The reader will meet the guy who shot a ground squirrel at 1000+ yards and the pro archer hitting Solo cups at 80 yards, yet both hunters blow all their close-range shots on big game.
Book is available in full-color in print and also in Kindle, available on Amazon here
