This is a field evaluation of the ZeroTech Thrive HD Micro Prism 1x20mm. This scope was sent to Ryan Avery for an evaluation by ZeroTech.

Zeroing and Drop Evaluation:
For an explanation see- Scope Field Eval Explanation and Standards

The “test” consists of three 18” drops on a mat- one left/right/top with a shot to check zero after each drop. Then the exact same thing repeated from 36”. Then three drops on all three sides for nine drops on the last part- 15 drops total. This is not “abuse”. The 18” drops are a joke really. The 36” start showing something. And when a scope make/model consistently goes through the whole thing without losing zero, and makes it through the high round count portion, failures in actual use are almost unheard of.

This one was conducted on semi-packed snow, with a 1/2 shooting padded mat on top.

All screws were degreased and installed to “tight”.

Ammunition used was Norma 150gr WT. The 20 round proof group with this ammo was 1.8 MOA.

This one is different than the standard eval, as it is just zeroing and zero retention.

The adjustments are 1 MOA per click.

Bite sighted and the top 5 rounds. Adj down 3 MOA and right 1 MOA and the bottom 5 rounds were next.

Adjusted right 2 MOA, and fired ten rounds-

Then conducted the Drop Evaluation-

The group opened up a bit from the drops, but the center stayed zeroed. As post drop eval the zero was unaffected.

Conclusions:
I have relatively limited use with 1x Prism optics. Therefore I do not know where this falls relative to other options save for the Vortex version- which this optic is significantly better than.
Zeroing was straightforward and the adjustments did seem to move as indicated. The drop eval did show the group get larger some, but that is most likely due to the small mounting screws and system (I have seen exactly the same with some red dots). With a replacement mount it is likely that it would not show any deviation.

In use it is relatively easy with both eyes open shooting. The 1x mag does seem to be correct, and people with heavy astigmatism will appreciate the clarity of the glass and reticle over red dots.
