Zeiss HD5 vs Leica Amplus 6

Hi all.

Looking to replace my Zeiss Conquest HD5 5-25x52 Ret plex.

I would be very interested to hear opinions in the “new” Leica Amplus 6 3-18x44i ret4a and how both compare. The use will be as an allround scope.

I have the Leica Amplus 6, but cant help you with comparison with the Zeiss.

I have compared it against a Leupold VX5 and Trijicon Credo HX, and much prefer the Amplus 6 to both. The glass quality and clarity was similar if not better than the VX5 and much better than the Trijicon. I also prefer the fit and finish of the Leica to the other scopes. I have only had it on my rifle for a year, but so far no issues with holding zero.

I have that Model Amplus and so far have been impressed in function and optics. Really like the simple Illuminated dot. The little dialing I've done it's responded well..
I do have a Zeiss HD5, but it's a 3-15 x 42 with Z-plex reticle. it's been a good scope, very nice optically but behind the Amplus to my eyes.

Thank you both for your opinions! I don’t doubt the Leica is a good scope but I’m a bit concerned about its performance in low light… can you comment further on this aspect?

I would say in lowlight the beats out my NXS 2.5-10x42 and Zeiss HD5 and hangs right there with my S&B Klassik 3-12x42.
