Anyone have any experience with these boots? Zamberlan has a good reputation for making quality boots but before I shell out $300+ I'd like to hear what fellow Roksliders have to say.

I can't speak for the guide, but I did recently bite the bullet and ordered a pair of the Zamberlan KUIU Pamir GTX RR boots and absolutely love them. When I received them I had a little bit of a fit issue but put in a pair of Merino Superfeet insoles and they fit great. Wore them around the house a little, then took them on a 12 mile hike last weekend with no issues and just got done trudging through 11.6 miles of some good snow in the Elkhorns, still no issues.

I don't think you would be disappointed with the guides. I have several friends that tried them this fall and absolutely loved them. I did have one buddy that wasn't to thrilled on the insole fit for his feet, but I told him to try a pair of Superfeet insoles and see what he thinks. Haven't heard if he tried that yet.

Just my 2 cents

thanks brewer.. I'm looking at either the Ibex or the guide boot. I would love the Kuiu Pamir but too rich for my blood.

Ya I hear you, the KUIU's will hopefully be my last set of boots for quite a few years so I spent the extra. All three of my buddy's that bought the guides are at my house right now, drinking all my beer, and they say they wouldn't hesitate to buy them again.

I hate it when that happens.. Well I guess it's settled then.. I'll be picking up a pair shortly. I'll have to pm you next time I'm in helena (I'm there pretty often). We may have to meet up and float the MO..

Ya deffanently man, I'm always looking for an excuse to get my boat out on the MO, especially from now until summer when there's no tubers or 20 guides on one stretch of water.

I have a pr of Zamberlain Guide and really like them; they are not insulated so just know that. The Ibex are insulated and I believe have a stiffer sole than the Guide. I switched form Hanwag to Zamberlain last year for a bigger toe bed and have never looked back. I really liked my Hanwag Alaskan GTX but they were killing my toes. My first pr of Guides ended up leaking which I found hunting in CO for Elk last year...ended up getting there 1 day before the rain started that caused all the flooding so anything waterproof got a real wold workout...it rained every day. Zamberlain replaced them so now I have to take the time to break the new ones in. I wear all Zamberlain now. The Ibex are insulated so make sure you are OK with that; I cannot wear insulated boots; my feet over heart, or I'd have the Ibex. I also bought the KUIU Zamberlain joint venture boots but sent them back after trying them on...they are so stiff I felt like I had ski boots on..zero flex. I think you need to go somewhere that sells Zamberlain to try the boots on because the Guide and the Ibex are very different from one another. Zamberlain makes some great boots!

I have 3 years with the Vioz and have nothing but good things to say about them. If they fit your foot you should be happy.
