I can find as many reviews and articles as I want on the Tibet's but there are very few review on these Zamberlans. I like the looks of both but I want some more information on the 980s. Has anyone tried both of these boots and how do they compare to each other?

Haven't tried the Lowas, but I have the 980s and love them. FWIW I have a friend who returned two pairs of Tibets because the rand delaminated on both pairs. I know a lot of guys love them, it just comes down to which one feels better on your feet. The Zamberlan last fits my feet pretty well so I can't complain at all. I had the 960s before I got the 980s.

Don't have the Lowas, but have 960s and zamberlans Ibex pro. I have been told the fit between lowa and zamberlan is quite different, with Zamberlain having a narrower heal than the Lowas. If I have too much heal slip, blisters form fast. I like both Zamberlans, but wish I had spent more to get the higher top of the 980s over the 960's. Really the best advice would be to buy both from a place with a good return policy and figure it out based on fit. Asolo also fit my narrow heals well, but didn't have the ankle support. Good luck. If you have questions about the Ibex pro let me know, a great stiff boot.

I've had 2 pairs of Tibets begin to separate at the rand toward the end of hunts but they "kept on ticking" and LOWA took care of them with no questions at all This 3rd pair has been perfect so far and I've been wearing then to work everyday this winter because they're so comfortable

Totally different fit on these. Definitely try them on and see what works for you. To me the Zams feel loose and sloppy, and the Lowas are narrow and tighter fitting.

Seems like you have the exact opposite experience as everyone else with these two brands. Interesting.
