Built a rifle based on element 4.0 chassis with folding adapter and carbon smoke buttstock.

Initially had the folder the wrong direction as I'm lefty. Move it to fold the other way but the set screw is now on top and there is no notched part on the buffer tube for the set screw to go in.

I messaged xlr but figured I'd ask here because well, I'm impatient and I leave on Monday for moose.

Forego the set screw?
Have it fold the wrong direction against the bolt handle?

I run one in a left handed configuration where it swings to opposite side of the bolt. If I remember right, I just tightened the set screw down. In fact I may have trimmed it so it didn’t protrude as much? I can’t remember. Either way, it’s been fine for the last couple years. I definitely wouldn’t have it beating against the bolt handle

I have it mounted correctly for now. Might pull the tube off and grind a notch for the set screw to go in for extra insurance.

I think at one time they had set screws on both top and bottom Im hoping @XLR will chime in.

Lefty here.
I have mine, flip with the set screw on top and just tighten down with no issuesIMG_1133.jpeg

The more I think about it, I do think I swap to a little bit shorter stainless set screw. Just because I didn’t like feeling it stick up. I snug it up, didn’t crank down hard as I could but definitely snug. I also put an indicator mark on my castle nut and tube as you can see in the picture. I want to see if anything ever moved or broke free. Have never had an issue.

But yes I did just snug it up right onto the threads.
