XDM Grip Safety and Holster question…

Ok, this is probably a dumb question… I just bought a Springfield XDM Elite 10mm and I have an Alaska Guide Creations holster on my bino harness…that holster has a strap that goes around the grip to secure the pistol in the holster, and thus depresses the Springfield’s grip safety when the pistol is holstered… is this ok to carry the gun like this? Meaning
a) it’s not going to hurt the pistol being holstered for extended periods with the grip safety being depressed the whole time
and
b) the gun is still safe to carry with a round in the chamber ( I’m assuming so because the Glock-like trigger safety is still engaged….)

I have the same pistol and holster. When I carried them, I put the velcro strap around the back of the slide, not over the grip safety. That said, I only ran that setup one season chasing elk in colorado. For me I didn't like the idea of only having the 10mm when I had my bino harness on. Since then I run with the springfield in an alien gear chest holster with my bino harness over top of it. This way I always have the bear medicine ready to go even if I take off the binos.
