I am interested in getting a Browning X-Bolt and have settled on two models; the X-Bolt Hell's Canyon Long Range and the X-Bolt Pro Long Range. They appear to be very similar except the X-Bolt Pro Long Range has a carbon fiber stock and fluted bolt/bolt handle. Is this correct? Does anyone have either model? What are your thoughts?

I don’t have either, but one other difference is The Pro is stainless and cerakoted where the HC is just cerakoted.

I have last year's hells canyon long range in 300 win mag. It's been solid rifle. Mine has the 10 twist barrel. I believe the newer ones in that caliber have a 8 twist. Opens up the door for heavy for caliber bullets. Mine has the mag length to load the sub 200 bullets to just off the lands if that is desired. Not sure what you're goals and use for the rifle are but the hells canyon in the game scout stock could be worth a look. Something to keep in mind, if you like to tinker, there's not alot of aftermarket goodies for browning rifles. Mine has done well out of the box though with little tinkering. My .02

My X Bolt Speed in 30 06 has been a tack driver. It has the sporter (thinner barrel). Been looking at the long range in 30 win mag. I don't think you could wrong choosing either. I'm not convinced that the I would benefit from the Pro model upgrades with my shooting skills and east coast hunting areas. If it's the same trigger I could not adjust mine less than about 3. 5 lbs. Put in a Timney and made a huge difference. My thoughts!

Could not get my trigger below 3.5lbs as well. Gonna try the mcarbo spring. They claim 2.5lb pull for $12.95.

I put Mcarbos in three X-Bolts and got them all below 3 lbs, more like 2.2-2.5. They feel nice.
