X-Bolt 2 Speed Carbon Fiber SPR vs X-Bolt 2 Speed, OD Green

I am looking at a new X-Bolt. If you have experience or knowledge can you tell me the benefit of the carbon fiber wrapped barrel vs the normal 'speed' rifle. The carbon fiber version weighs more and has a shorter barrel so it must not be a weight savings.
The cost difference is over $1300 so I am sure I am missing what the benefit is.
My application is chasing deer and elk up the mountain for 5-10 miles per day.
Please dont take this into a cartridge war or a 'why not look at XXX model or brand?'
I am simply asking for comparisons in the 2 rifles listed.
