Recently migrated to Wyoming from Colorado. Wish I would have found this place years ago. I am stoked to start learning this great state. Still looking for a little direction on decent units here so any help would be great. Looking forward to sharing with everyone's hunting stories and a few of my own, drew a third season buck tag in CO this year!!!

Casper is a good town. For an outdoorsman who has a wife who isn't it might be the perfect balance.

I'm liking it so far. We moved from the Meeker, CO area so its a little hard to get used to traffic, and traffic lights ha. There is a lot to do not far from home though.

Crummy we are looking at the big horns. Looking to get a left over cow tag. Was looking at unit 34. But after talking to warden and biologist. With the cow tag only good off the Nf. We thought we might. Be better of looking at 40 or 41. The warden for 40 is a hard person to track down. I have even left my email for him. Still no response.

41 probably won't have any leftovers, 40 will have some and based on last year you'll have about 15 minutes to get one.

I don't know much about that neck of woods. There is a guy here who got 38. Was asking me. I contacted some guys I know who live up there and everyone being tight lipped. It's not like everyone can hunt there it is a draw. I like to help because most people don't go 1-2 miles off road up here

i agree with above statement about leftovers. Most are hard access or poor game. Archery only tags can be a bonus but ONLY if that was your plan to begin with. You can get in earlier and most won't spend the money on it. This was also a bad year because game and fish was talking about raising cost. So many people used their point cache. I heard that had a record number of entries this year. Only time will tell if thatis true. June 28 the elk draw is published.

Thanks wapitibob. Looks like we will have to be fast. On the draw. We are at least a year away from drawing a bull tag. Was just looking to do a little scouting. And may be get a cow. If we were lucky. We are leaning more toward 40. Just to stay out away from the wilderness. Thanks crumy. It doesn't really matter archery or rifle. Lets hope a lot of people dumped there points. It might guarantee our tags next year.
