WY Region F Help and last years 214" buck

Hi There- Looking for any advice on Region F. I live in western WY and typically hunt G&H . However the season ended here yesterday and I didn't get it done so looking to explore some new country later in the season. Anyone have any input or tips on where to start in F? I'll likely hunt the last week of the season. I attached a photo of last years buck I took on the opener.

Nice deer. I can't be of any help, but I'll be watching the thread as F is an area I've been researching as well since G will probably take me 6+ points to draw as a non-resident.

Thats a great deer, You may hunt your entire life and never see a buck like that in F. There is a few big bucks pulled out of here every year but its nothing compared to G&H. Theirs a very small gap when you may get lucky and catch the migration of big deer coming out of the high country usually the last 3 days is the best but the weather plays a huge part in that. I find them in the burnt timber and in the rocks around the rims. In F you better bring a good set of walking boots no different than G&H or a sure footed pony is a plus. most the good spots are not to far from a highway or trail head (my furthest spot is a 9 mile ride). Another thing to consider in F is the grizzlies are trying to get that last gut pile before denning up so being bear aware is a must as you probably already know we are not lacking a healthy bear population up here. As far as a specific place to hunt im not going to say where because you will most likely find deer in any location with the above description. I wouldnt get to wrapped up in inches around this country either, but If you want a number dont pass a 170 in this country unless hes a 3.5 year old deer.

I am also headed to Region F in two weeks, coming down from Alaska. Really looking forward to seeing some new country as our small group has hunted Montana the last few years for Mule deer. My uncles have hunted the area quite a bit though, so I'll be following them around to get the lay of the land!

If I don't fill my tag around home, I head over to F in November to try my luck. Always see lots of bucks coming down from the hills and some dandies on private ground. With my GPS, I've found some little pieces of public in the private.

My tip is if you hunt the north fork, bring some waders with felt soles to cross the river and some trek pole to keep your balance with a load of meat in your backpack. Have some fun and good luck!

Hope for some weather. Can be fun after a good storm. Without weather you gotta cover a lot of country to find animals

Thanks for the info, That is helpful. I recognize its a different hunt G&H and the genetics obvioulsy arn't the same. However, I'd love to hit it right and look over a bunch of deer on the move. I've also seen some pretty gnarly heavy horned older bucks come out of there. Maybe not big scoring bucks but beautiful deer nonetheless. I'm going to try and be flexible and head that way if way if we get a good storm. Thanks again.
