How bad would our group of 4 proverbially “shoot ourselves in the foot” going into the 2023 WY group application with only 3 out of 4 of our group with one PPt each? Muley and/or antelope, guided hunts, & probably get the Special. What’s your experience, if any? Just curious.

Depends on the unit/draw odds. You can look them up easy enough and have an idea of the difference between 1 pt or <1pt.

We’re already at the bottom of the pile.😁 A group avg. of 0.75 might not matter, but it is less than 1!

Yes, very situational on where you are applying. Most of the places you would draw it would be wise to work with an outfitter.
That’s the plan. That, and an open minded attitude that the cost is just the price to go have fun. Work hard, play hard. Same as cost of fun for anything else. Go rent a beach house or condo for a week during summer season on the FL Gulf coast or FL, GA, or SC Atlantic coast & that cost of fun probably is more expensive.

No such thing as <1 in the actual draw, and .7500 is way better than .6666 or .5000 when it comes to drawing a license.

The reports are formatted for printing so you see the < or <= groups.
What am I looking at here? The draw report for WY Antelope Unit 10 had 11 tags awarded to applicants with <1 point.

Look like <1 and 0 First Choice applicants had 100% First Choice Success Odds, but the quota was much greater than applicants.

Was replying to Wapitibob's post: "No such thing as <1 in the actual draw". I'm curious what he means by his statement as you can clearly see on the screenshot of the draw report that there is in fact a column for applicants with <1 point.

What he means is that when the draw is taking place, there is not a <1 group. Everyone with <1 is in the draw at their respective four place decimal. So .7500 get drawn before .6667 which gets drawn before .5000 before .3333 etc. Those decimals are important when trying to draw.

The draw report just lists it as < or > to save space as opposed to listing each decimal possibility.

Thank you for the clarification.

Well, I was informed that our #4 got his P.Pt. done on time , so we’re set to hopefully make it happen with a group “1”. Hey, everybody has to start somewhere! 😁 Thanks all y’all for your comments.

When you are getting ready to do your group app, make everyone in your group produce a screen shot off the wgfd website confirming their pref point level. Don't take anybody's word for how many they have. Had 1 member of the group almost burn us. Said he had X # points but had 1 less than X.
