I have a set of knives of Alaska knives I purchased as a set several years ago. The Alpha Wolf has D2 steel and the Cub Bear has 440C. They had the black rubber handle on them that had a really crappy finish from KOA and got slippery when really bloody to the point I slipped onto the blade when in a cavity.
I dropped them off last year with a local knife builder and had him remove the old handles, clean the blades (extremely dirty under the handle as KOA never sealed the handles to their blade) and install black/hunter orange G10 handles. He resin’d and pinned the handles. I also had him texture the Alpha for a solid no slip grip. The Alpha has a solid hunter orange liner to match the thickness of the factory handle. I had him leave the Cub Bear thin for a small gripping knife. The dual sheath had pretty loose leather/leather had broken down, so I ordered two new factory sheaths from KOA.
I spent more on the handle work and new sheathes than I spent on the knives, but well worth the bomb proof grip. Great set than really holds an amazing edge. The Bear Cub is about the finest caping knife ever made.
Knives are used, but not abused. Great edge on them both.
$140 shipped for the set

That was a good idea to have the handles redone. I would love to have the cub. Please let me know if you would be interested in selling it separately. I do not need another big knife. If not free bump, good luck.

I’ll let you know if someone wants only the alpha.
