Depends on the model and cartridge. The Total Titanium with the 4" ported barrels bring the highest prices and the 41 Mag brings more than the 357 does, however the 4" ported TT model 460 in 45 Colt(not acp) are the rarest. I have no idea on the value of them now. The 357 run around 700.00 or so with the 41mag running a bit higher, used but in very nice condition. I have one of the rare model 460 I bought new and it is super light(bigger holes in the bbl/cylinder and a good bit more potent. 5 shots of 250gr hardcast @ 1000-1100fps is going to penetrate AND do some damage. Yes, great backpack revolvers as are the snubnosed Ultralite in 44 Special with a moderate hardcast load.

Great insights by PA, here....
I've learned a ton about these guns over the last few weeks/months. I have a .44 mag 4 inch UL Ti that I bought here at the 'slide last Summer. It's in great shape, not ported, and came in box with holster for $500 shipped.
There are three incarnations of lightweight Taurus guns: the ultra lite (no titanium), the ultra lite Titanium (scandium frame with a Ti cylinder) and the total Titanium (all Titanium.) Obviously in 2018 anything that is 'all titanium' is going to cost some major kwan. The Ti material and the machining of it is very, very expensive. I don't think any gun manufacturer is doing anything with Ti anymore for that reason. Any Ti Taurus one sees is probably long-discontinued from production.
I don't think S&W is doing anything Ti either. I have 396 .44 special airlite Ti and it's a great gun, but long gone from production.

Pa is right about the values. And the .41 total Ti is a great gun, and I found a few pretty reasonably priced with this latest search, but the problem is that they (and the .45) are real wrist poppers. Same goes with the .44 mag, but the difference is that the .44 mag can be loaded with .44 special rounds and thereby becoming a really fun gun to shoot.
We did some shooting over Christmas with the kids and the .44 UL Ti was a joy with .44 special rounds, but with .44 mag 240 grains it just made a guy want to wince. PAINFUL. Accurate as hell, but a real arse-kicker to shoot.

For that reason I avoided a .41 mag with the latest search. The .41 has no 'special' round..grin. BUT...The ported guns will certainly help with any of the big bore guns, but they will be more noisy.
The gun I ended up with regarding this posting is a .357mag total titanium in 4" with the ported barrel. I got it for $375, yeah, I was shocked to score it for that price--a Colorado gun shop had it. It's paid for, but I don't have it yet.
Here's pic of a typical UL Ti in .44 mag (mine). I'll post the .357 mag when I get it. These are fun guns, worth the price of admission...

Don't know if anyone followed this thread, grin..but here's a promised pic of the .357 'all Titanium'...
I actually picked up another yesterday..a .44 special total titanium with 2" barrel, should be a helluva CC gun. Got it very reasonably.

I realize these aren't S&W or Ruger guns, but they are vastly underrated in the "partial ti" or "all titanium" format, imho. I suspect that they will be worth big money going forward.

I agree they are very underrated and I’m glad you didn’t buy mine 😀 as I had no clue as to what currently is going on with the ti models or partial ti models like the ultralight. I’ll be keeping mine!

Nice score on that .357! What is the weight?

Thanks, DOT. 24.5 ounces on the 4" .357.

The 2" .44 special I have coming is an all-Ti and it's 19 ounces, and it's spectrum blue like yours. :) Did we determine if yours might indeed be an all Ti gun? Have you looked at it closely to determine? It should say TITANIUM across the left side in front of the trigger shroud. All the the total Ti's have that in common.

I have been looking at these now. Looks like a great option for a lightweight Backpacking pistol and a good CC. Thanks for the heads up Broomd

I don’t think mine is all Ti, think it is the Ti scandium model but if memory serves me it weighs around 28-29oz empty. I’ll take a look, I know it says titanium on the barrel. It weighs less then my G29.

Anything that needs to be made lightweight/strong these days keeps the cost on producing and machining titanium rising. Just the added cost of a titanium rifle action over stainless steel could be $600 plus. Pretty much why it is limited to custom built rifle actions and no handguns these days. I'm keeping my 4" ported Taurus Total Titanium 45LC revolver and Remington 700 Titanium 270 rifle...which sell for 1800-2200.00 nowadays.

Yeah mine is not fully Ti, only says it on the barrel.
