I have been trolling for a good deal on a used one on ebay, but figured I'd check to see if anyone has one of the newer model RX100s that they're looking to sell.

I'm not selling my 100iii, but I hope you find one. It is an excellent all-around backpacking camera.

I'm torn between the 3 and 4... Trying to decide if the better EVF, shutter speed and dynamic range is worth the extra $200. Not planning on using it for video so the 4K and slow-mo don't really factor into the value for me. It'll be my first camera since an old Canon powershot back in '07. My Sony phone has filled most of me desires over the past few years, but now I want more.

I'm planning on taking it to Canada for a pike fishing trip this year. Have you found it to be reasonably water resistant or am I going to have to baby it?

mine has been rained and snowed on, but I haven't dropped it in water or anything. I keep it in a neoprene case and so for so good. The 4's only real advantage is video, so you might well be happy with the 3.

The automatic panorama stitching is awesome, too.

I just had a 4 stolen from me and will be replacing it immediately. I was always the phone guy too but when I got that camera in November and took it on one hunt I was very pleased with what I could do, not really knowing anything eithrr. They are nice.

Give Jeff a call at Cameraland and see what he can do for you. Think you'll be satisfied. Tell him you're a Rokslide member. He would push you towards the 3 if not using it for video.

We have a 3, and very happy with it. No temptation to upgrade to 4, because it was not a huge upgrade.

one off deal or a closeout ? Congrats

Ebay one off... There are some in the similar price range but the mint condition ones seem to be going for closer to $600. A couple mark IVs that I was watching this weekend go for just over $700 shipped with extras (one had an $80 SD card).

Use ebay filter 'sony rx100 (m4, IV)' or 'sony rx100 (m3, III)'. The (,) is a logical OR.

Can someone tell me how to figure out what model I have? I cannot see it on the camera?

Mk 1 and Mk 2 have 1,8-4,9 on the front lens, the 2 will have a hot shoe on top (the connector that accessories slide into like an external flash or viewfinder). Mk 3 and 4 have 1,8-2,8 on the front lens and have a pop-up viewfinder. They all have RX100 II RX100 III and RX100 IV respectively when looking at the top of the camera on the bottom left. The original just has a plain RX100 near the mode selection wheel.
