Looking for a trail cam in good shape. Plan on setting it up to watch my truck and trailer where it is parked so I can have evidence if/when someone decides to make a bad decision. Don’t need cellular as there’s no service where I’ll be parked.

I know very little about trail cams, haven’t ever used one, so I really only need something low tech.

Thanks

You can get a muddy outdoors trail cam just about anywhere online for $30. They are good we use them where there is no service. Since you’re using it for security you may also want to invest in a trail cam lockbox for $40 otherwise someone could just remove the camera and/or chip before messing with your truck.

Thanks for the replies! After I posted the ad I discovered they’re quite a bit cheaper than I expected (I was looking at cellular ones before) Also found that they’re super cheap with some of the discounts I can get.

So that maybe changes this ad somewhat and more of “which non cellular trail cams would you buy for this application?!”

Thanks!

definitely no-glow and/or something with a lock box as previously mentioned.

Another consideration - even if you don’t have service, a trail camera with an antenna sticking out of it may be more of a deterrent than one without. If someone thinks their picture is already on your phone, they may be more likely to run than destroy your camera. At my last job we also would hang a cheap or broken camera in an obvious spot with a better cam in a more concealed location.

I have had really good luck with Wildgame Innovations non-cell trail cameras. The mid-range "blackout" ones have been great for the money. The Moultrie mini ones look pretty good, too.
