Are these insulated boots going to be too hot for warm weather hiking? Or tolerable? Possible interested for wife, but probably need to pass if it's going to overheat.

Ultimately it depends on your wife and what you mean by warm weather hiking. My wife wore them during Oregon Bow season were it can be in the upper 80’s and had no issues or hot spots. Make sure to get some good socks and it should be fine.
