Winter project tipi

I'm finally doing it.. Im going to build a 6 or 8 man tipi this winter. I've seen some awesome shelters built on this forum and I'm finally going to do one myself. Does anyone have or know where to find a pattern? Some people on here have made them but I haven't seen any patterns yet.. It sure would save some time if I didn't have to design one.

Here is a thread that has sketchup attachments for a previous tent build. All you need to do is mod it to the size/shape you want. I'm planning on the same thing, but I am doing it on my own. Using trig I calculated a tipi to the size I am looking for. But I do not have the dimensions with me right now. I built a small scale model to see how it would look and plan to use card board to build a template for when I actually start the build. Still in the planning stage here though. Thanks for the link. I'm working on it with a friend, and we'll each build one. His wife is an expert at sewing, so we've got that part solved at least.

I helped someone else out with a tipi design also. I'm not sure if they went through with it or not but I sent them some sketchup files and a cut list I believe. If you let me know what size you want and height you want I can try to come up with something for you. PM me and we can figure something out.

Thinking about doing the same I need a lot of practice though before I tackle a tipi. Gonna start out making some pullout style stuff then work my way up from there.
