Looking to sell this Winchester Model 70 Extreme Weather SS in 30-06. I am selling this rifle as a parts gun for anyone who may be interested in the action for a custom build or other parts.
The barrel has issues from the factory that cause poor accuracy. I have been unable to get it to group better than 4 or 5 inches at 100 yards with both a Leupold and Trijicon scope. I took it to my gunsmith who ran a borescope through it. The borescope showed that the lands and grooves have ridges in them which he said is what is causing the accuracy issues. That being said, I did take three deer with it last season at 200 yards before I knew about the barrel issue.
I believe that this rifle is a perfect candidate for a rebarrel but that is not a project that I want to undertake at the is time. I just want to sell it and replace it with either a Tikka T3X Lite Stainless or a Sako 90 Finnlight in the same chambering. The pictured pic rail mounts come with it. I can answer any questions that you may have.
