I have been wanting a Winchester Model 70 in .280 Remington forever. Only bad part is Winchester doesn't chamber it any longer. My father passed away a while back and left me a small amount of money that he told me he wanted me to so something special for myself. I figured what better option than a custom rifle. I have searched high and low for a used Model 70 controlled round feed and I found this .270 Classic Sporter for sale. It was in a lot better condition than it needed to be just for a donor, but I won't complain. I really like the wood in the stock so that means I don't have to refinish or replace it so that's a plus also. It looks like it's only been fired just a few times if at all.

Hardly any marks on the front of the bolt.

24" sporter weight barrel in .270 Winchester

You can tell by looking at the chamber that there have been VERY FEW rounds cycled through this thing.

$100.00 plus shipping I'd like to see someone be able to put this to good use and maybe it can be used to replace a .270 barrel on a Winchester you have that is shot out, or you want a .270 and have an action in a different caliber. This would be a factory replacement. Shoot me a PM if anyone is interested.

The rifle I'm going to build is going to be a .280AI. I feel that or the .280 Remington either or are great cartridges. The new custom barrel will be 24" and with dimensions the same as the factory barrel. The stock will be pillar and glass bedded. The trigger is going to be worked over by the gunsmith and set to 3#. If I am not happy with it, down the road that will be replaced. The action is going to be trued and squared up by the gunsmith as well.

Optics. I am thinking about four right now.
1. 6x42mm Leupold fixed with the ballistic dots inside set for my load.
2. 4.5-14x40mm Leupold with the B&C reticle
3. Zeiss Conquest HD5 2-10 with the Z600 reticle
4. Swarovski 3-10x40mm with the ballistic plex reticle

Loads:
I will handload my own ammo and will look at trying 140-160 gr. Partitions, Accubonds, and E-tips. The first one that I come to that my rifle really really likes then that's what I'll use. I'm pretty excited about this.

I guess this could fit here but more appropriately in the classifieds. My bad. Could one of the moderators move it for me. I'm not sure how to do that. Thanks.
