Help me.out here guys.

I recently picked up a seekoutside BCS2 and additional Grande panel.

I'm contemplating selling my supertarp, annex peg&pole kit to fund a stove

I've used the supertarp about 15 nights out. using it solo isn't too bad. But I usually have to crawl over my gear to hit the exit when the annex is installed. This is the first year I've gone with 2 in the tarp and I found out its not as big as is like it to be, even with someone I'm cuddley with.

I usually sleep with my head towards the door so I can sit up if I want but I found out crawling in head 1st then spining around to face the front is much harder with my GF in the tent and I almost managed to kick her in the head A few times lol. Now she's 5'0" and 100# I could only imaging trying this maneuver with a hunting buddy. Hence the larger shelter. Wich suits me well.

But I'm getting cold feet posting the ST and annex up on the classifieds.

Am I going to regret it? Is there a situation that would call for an ST when the BCS2 or a 10x10 siltarp won't do ?

I'm taking em to the park to pitch both and mull it over when I have them side by side. But if its soggy, cold or 2+ people the BCS is coming. Id really only use the ST in fair weather solo or even just the BCS base as a 3 sided shelter/tarp pitch.

Any thoughts or advice ?

Here's the idea I had for a fair weather pitch with the Grande panel

And for reference here's how much space my 5'10" 250# frame eats up in a super tarp

I would think you could do anything you want without the Supertarp. Your other two shelters seem to cover your needs. By the way, the Kifaru Cylinder Stove is pretty awesome.

Thanks 7mag

thats what I was thinking too. Just don't want to come to situations where the ST would be ideal and i'd regretted letting it go.

Cylinder stoves look cost effective and effiecent but i might be leaning towards a designe with a fat top surface for cooking.

Still researching that angle

I have been happy with my seek outside stove so far if your looking for a flat top nice thing is you can use it without the bottom and dig a hole to hold more wood. I have personally never done that but it's an option anyways. I'm also leaning tword selling my mega tarp just to have something I can stand up in.

I also Have a seek outside stove and a SO 4 man. I like it. It is not bigger than you BCS. if so not by much

I can stand up to get dressed important for an old guy.

Aha! so I'm not the only one who enjoys the standup height.
Although I think If I had the mega I'd keep it. For a lo-profile shelter the ST is alright. but I can only sit up in one spot. maybe I'm just assuming but I imagined the MT's contiguous height would alleviate that issue?
I'm really just trying to forsee a situation where my loadout would call for more than a simple tarp but less than a BCS. other than as a loaner tent, the only situation I can think of is Combat. And thus far the deer havent been shooting back. ;)

And yes I've been eyeing the SO large or SXL might be heavier than Kifaru but I like some of the features. Particularly the sliding door and draft control

I find it too hard to part with gear... every piece has been researched and used and abused and treasured... I'd keep it but I have problems. If you dont think you'll use it then sell it on... the kifaru gear keeps its value well and you can always buy another one if you need it in the future
