Who has a Wiggy’s bag or any of their insulation stuff?

Interesting concepts, was just checking out his zero degree bags, I could get 2 of his bags for cheaper than a high end down bag and have options!

I don't- yet.

But I have 3 buddies in Alaska that do and they like them.

I have never heard a complaint about a Wiggy's product. guys wearing through those UL waders he made is about it...and thats understandable. Coated the bottoms of mine with shoe goo and they are bulletproof

I have one of their zero degree bags. It’s the only bag I’ve ever used that was comfortable at it’s rated temperature. It’s a bit more bulky and heavier than other bags, but that sucker is WARM and came with a cool little pillow.

As long as you don't wanna pack them a long ways they work as advertised. I just can't give up that much space in my pack, or have something that bulky strapped to the outside. For truck camping though it wouldn't be an issue for me.

The pillows are pretty nice....slippery little devils, they are...

:D

My super light goes in a dry bag and dry bag clips to my lifevest via a short cord when I canoe in colder temps, just in case.....get to shore, strip and get in....dry bag is like a float also.

How much larger are they packed down? Most of what I will do the weight being an extra pound is not a big deal!

It depends how good you are at compressing and what compression sack you use. The mss sack is probably one of the best for a larger bag or a wiggys radial sack....either one will make the compressed bag longer and thinner than a 'normal' style sack. Definitely bulkier than some other options but very bulletproof. Should last a lifetime...for what they cost on ebay I think everyone should have at least one....0 degree bag can be purchased for around $100 shipped.

I recommend that if you purchase one you get the breakaway zipper.....harder to find on a used bag and many sellers do not know what it is. A picture of the top of the zippers closed will show that one side of the 'teeth' part of the zipper extends about 1" farther than the other part. You give a good pull up on the closed zipper and the whole zipper comes undone...you just push it apart and get out of the bag.

I had one I sold. Big heavy and pretty crudely built.

But they work. I had a zero degree that for me was more like a 10 degree. Part of the problem was the uncomfortable unbaffled hood and lack of any neck baffle.

Great for someone on a budget who wants synthetic.

I don’t hunt wet areas so I sold it.

Another Wiggy's Ultralight fan. I found the build to be high quality, and it compresses well into a kifaru five-string stuff sack. Don't bother with the pillow, as zap said, they don't stay put.

Anyone have any pics of one of these compressed in a kifaru stuff sack they’d be willing to post?

I have had better results when compressing a bulkier item if I go for longer and thinner rather than the basketball shape. Wiggy offers a 'radial' stuff sack that is good for longer/thinner and the mss stuff sack is somewhat similar but heavier.

YMMV.

I use one for my basecamp and save my down bag for when I hike in to hunt. It saves several days a year wear and tear on my down bag and keeps it cleaner. For the price, its worth it to me.
