Just wondering how many people are or have worn under armour hunting cloths and what you think of it

I have but not for extended hunts. 1-2 day eastern stuff.

I have two soft shell jackets and a set of softshell pants. An Ayton jacket and a set of softer shells. I also have a few hats and wear underwear by them for nearly everything sports wise but favor Patagonia or first lite merino for long trips.

Athletic fit. Mass market feel. I could do without the racing stripes and day glow accents but I guess my hunting buddies wouldn't know how cool I was. Functional. Very thoughtful layout and execution of pockets. Materials are a less impressive than Firstlite which is my favorite and a lot less impressive than kuiu and Sitka. I can't say I notice much difference in performance but I am not doing long range multi day trips. The price is right for what you get I think.

My wife has a set of their boots, pants and coat. She's been very happy with them. Quiet, comfortable, fit well and have held up well. Not high tech mountaineering type clothing, but functional and readily available and semi affordable.

Cam Hanes :)

Nailed it! The only people I see wearing their clothing while hunting is people sponsored. I've never cared for their stuff.

With that said I won a pair of their fat tire boots. They look goofy as heck but man they are comfy! I wear them almost everyday at home working around the yard. A little light to haul some weight ( I tried) but for quail hunts/general purpose they rock.

I wear certain under armor pieces - and my wife wears all UA base layers - she likes it way better as she hates wool, sweats minimally so odor is less of a concern, and is ALWAYS cold lol - Synthetic base layers seems to make sense for her.

If I know I am going to be sitting a lot etc, I'll use some sort of synthetic base layer in conjunction with merino.

I also recommend Layer 8 as a cheap UA alternative for base layers.

For casual wear, UA hoodies are my favorite hoodie... perfect degree of warmth, breath ability, toughness, and comfort.

UA is really "trendy" right now, but some of their outdoor lines are decent (tho getting super expensive as seems to be the clothing trend these days.)

Ok yes all admit that the only people I see wearing it are the sponsored ones but that's why I was wondering how good it is from other people so I don't go out and waste money on it I'm not a trendy person so I want to get the best value I'll be hunting in warm to very cold weather

Hmmm didn't know I had a sponsor lol... waiting for the check... I would say at least half of the people I know who hunt wear some sort of UA clothing... I really like their blaze orange sweatshirts/jackets... there isn't a lot of blaze orange clothing out there that I like...

I do wear mostly First Lite and Sitka, but do enjoy some under armor things as well.

I have a couple sets of UA base layers for cold weather, a hot weather top, and insulating bottoms. They are well made, comfortable, and keep me reasonably dry (I could sweat in the shade in November). I primarily use them for day hunts (and ice fishing sometimes). I have some First Lite, Core4, and Sitka stuff and generally prefer it, but I have no real complaints about the UA.

As someone mentioned they have a really nice blaze orange vest. I have had a set of their baselayers for more than 5 years now, each year I want to switch to merino, and each year I cant because they arent worn out, do the job and I refuse to buy new gear when the old stuff is still working.

Only thing I like from UA is their turkey clothes/gloves/mask. They have a nice set of riptstop clothing that's awesome for the heat over here in Cali. I had some of the Ayton items until I tried Kuiu.....no more UA for big game hunting.

i saw their rain coat cost 500$ and i decided right there i would never buy any UA hunting clothes. 500$ is unreal for a rain jacket lol

Yea their prices have been rising lately... you best stay away from arcteryx and sitka too then ;-)

Economics 101... someone is buying it or they couldn't charge that...

I've got some UA stuff and I don't mind it. All my stuff is their cold weather gear and I feel it's heavier compared to their competitors like kuiu/Sitka. I also have one base layer shirt and I absolutely love it. It's comfortable and warm on cold days

They need to break up with goretex so they can offer something at a more realistic price point.

How does First Lite and Kuiu use a better waterproof breathable for almost half the retail cost.

I do like their pattern and hoodies though. Other then that haven't seen anything that's cost appropriate

I have some UA cold gear base layers that have been through the wringer with no signs of slowing down. They're great, but arent really hunting specific. I've also used a pair of their pants on a day trip coyote hunt that I borrowed from a buddy. They fit well and had good pockets, reinforced butt and knees...not sure of the exact model. They were nice, but I think they were mostly cotton, so I would probably leave those on the rack.

I have a cold gear inferred base top. Its held up well after 2 years . I wore it mainly at work since it doesn't breath well. best for low activity or when it won't get over 40 imo.
