I sit in a steam a few times a week. I sweat my ass off, it seems to loosen me up a bit. It can be good when you are dealing with congestion as long as you hydrate well afterwords, if you dont, it makes things worse.

Take a look at Dr. Rhonda Patrick's videos on the benefits of saunas. I really like to use one regularly and although I'm not positive it has huge impacts, it definitely makes me feel good overall.

I use the dry sauna and steam room regularly. Both seem to loosen up and also help with congestion. As I get older it really helps.

I’ve been using a dry sauna 1-2 times per week for about a month now. I follow it up with a cold shower (as cold as it goes). Also been sitting in a cold water tank once a week (water temp between 33-38 lately). I feel good! I’ll keep doing because I enjoy it.

I have a banya, which is basically a framed and sheathed and paneled shed type structure. A wood stove rest on a brick hearth with stretcher block surrounding the wood stove, excepting the doors and top. On top rest a 25 gallon stainless steel water trough. A bench on either side of the space. Two five gallon buckets, one for washing and one for rinsing a large bowl for either side.

It beats the pants off of a dry sauna. The heat and sweating action just can’t be beat. When you get too hot, sit on the floor, or spend a few minutes in the cold changing room. Nothing finer after a long day of moose hunting or running a trap line. The apartments I’m in right now have a dry sauna, and while it’s nice, it never gets as hot as I want.

I have a traditional sauna. I do a light circuit for a couple rounds in the AM and then hop in. In 12-15 minutes I’m drenched. I don’t like doing it at night because I get a little too wound up and it’s hard for me to sleep.

I know I feel great on the days I do it. Cognitive clarity and energy are for sure noticeably different. I run a construction company and if I’ve got any big meetings that day you can bet I’m in the sauna that morning.

I sauna 4-5 times a week for 15-30 minutes a session. I feel great and think it helps with inflammation. I too cold shower post sauna. A lot of studies out there say it helps prevent dementia/ heart disease. Also make you mentally tough imho. The sauna I frequent hovers around 195, I'll toss my earbuds in and listen to a podcast (I leave my phone outside the sauna or it will overheat but I have yet to burn up earbuds, YMMV). Not to derail the thread but does anyone do Cryo regularly?

I'm lucky to have a sauna at the house. I try to use it everyday, but realistically probably 25 times per month, I miss a night here and there. I keep a blue tooth speaker in there and listen to music, usually 25-35 minutes. Most of the time I follow it up with an ice cold shower. If there's snow on the ground, I usually forgo the cold shower and I'll roll in the snow for 10-15 seconds, usually 2 to 3 times (need fresh powder for this). I get a much bigger body high from rolling in the snow than the cold shower.

In regards to benefits, I've been doing this for 2 years now and when I get sick, it's not as long or severe as those around me. It also keeps my body limber and I feel much better overall since I started this.

I've been hitting the sauna at the gym 3-4 times a week for the last couple years. Makes you feel great. I like it enough i started building one in my garage a couple weeks ago that's almost complete.
