Alot of folks seem to be using them.

However thee are SO MANY MODELS... and its hard to tell the difference

Which one does everyone recommend?

There are a lot of models, it took be a while to decide, but it isn't as hard as it seems. There is a spredsheet on the main page "compare all models" in a red box to click. If you answer the questions below just look up the models you want.

Decide battery type: AA vs 18650 (there are a couple CR123 too)

Decide beam type: flood (wide angle), Floody (tighter than wide, but not a spot - even light), spill+spot (tight spot with diffuse spill around). I went with Floody and think it is great compromise beam for general use.

Decide on color: neutral or cool white (lot of people argue for neutral, few for cool white, but color isn't a biggie for me)

Decide on generation (older gens can often be had for less, but the newer gens seem higher performance).

I noticed Amazon has them now, didn't check the prices.

Ive been using the Floody Mk II in neutral white for a few years. Great mix of spill and throw, 18650 battery lasts forever, and the neutral white is nice for tracking blood.

FYI Neutral light is more of a warm yellowish tinge and cool white is more blue and intense.

JUST an FYI, the zebra light customer service is by far the worst I've ever experienced of any company I've ever purchased. Ever.

I've had two zebra lights, somehow they malfunctioned. Not sure how or why. Sent both in. On both occasions it took more than 3 months to get my light back. I must have emailed and called Zebra 20 times.

Still a good light though....
