What's new in archery targets

If I was gonna pony up and buy a new Target.. I’d either get a 365 36” or a Matrix.

Or just buy a morrel bag target and call it a day

365 Is what's next on my list. One of the big ones. I like how they have multiple cores to shoot at. Can get more shots in without walking back and forth, and plenty of room for error on those 70yd+ shots.

I'd skip the morrel. At least the supreme range model, I just recently ordered one. The first couple shots into it and 1/4 of the target was lacking fill and arrows sunk past the fletchings, ruining them. Emailed them. they sent me another one and it still has the same problem.
Rhinehart are extremely durable (maybe the most durable on the market?) but the arrows pull so hard it's a dealbreaker for me. I don't want to have to struggle and stand on my target just to have to pull the arrow. If you don't mind that, it'll last a long time.
I love my Rinehart, just wish it was bigger. Arrows pull way easier if you use a bulbed field point or shoot with outserts. I'm shooting 4mm with outserts now, and the arrows pull really easily.

Now I would get the new delta McKenzie instead of the 365! Looks way better

I built my own, because I was tired of having them too small, or just too expensive. I used old osb and some left over pallat wood 2x4 for the top and bottom. Used all thread to provide compression. The foam is just gym floor foam, the inter locking puzzle kind. I bought 3 packs of 24in x 24in and then cut it in half. So the dimensions of the foam is 12in x 24 in and then just stack it as high as you like. I have some left over foam to replace any that wears out. The great part is I just un screw it and I can move the edge pieces to the center when they are shot out. It works for both broadheads and field tips. I'm shooting some 4mm and 5mm and I shoot in the garage from about 5 ft away and it stops it fine. I will say the foam flexes some when pulling out broadheads it will catch the broadhead some and sometimes is more challenging to remove. But it does work. All together I think I spent $100-120 total. You could save some money and only use 2 pieces of all thread with a 2 x6 or 2 x8 for a top board.

The spots for aiming are just golf tees. I just move them around to spread out my aiming points and prolong the life of the target.

Another vote for the 365 targets. I’ve got a lot of use out of one for a few years now. It’s easily portable for shooting out in the hills at different angles and is big enough to help you not lose arrows at 100+ yard shots. The foam is easy to pull arrows from too.

I switched from a 365 to a matrix target, and couldn't be happier for my home range setup. The Matrix is just way more durable - but arrows are a little harder to pull out compared to the 365.

I picked up a small Morell high roller for taking out to other places / camp to shoot. The rope handle is a lot more convenient than I would have thought it would be. I also really like the white on red.

Anyone have hands on experience with the Delta Predator 36” target yet? I’m deciding between that one and the 365 36” with the 14” removable core

I got a 36” 365 target last year. It’s held up awesome so far. Would highly recommend. Probably have about 1500 arrows into it and it is still in great shape.

I have been a rinehart guy for several years, but just got a 365 and it’s holding up really well for the amount of arrows that it’s taken, I will most likely stick with them, because it seems like rineharts have become worse, my last couple have not held up well

I have an 18/1 and a rhinoblock and will probably retire both for broadhead use only, but I’m having arrows get through both, and I haven’t got near the shooting out of them vs my older ones

I got the 24” delta predator last Thursday. Seems like it will be pretty good. Foam is softer than my Rinehart elk and 18-1. One thing to note is that it runs slightly smaller then advertised. Core runs 13” and the whole target is like 23 1/4”. I wanted the 36” but it cost a small fortune the ship from Lancaster.

I ended up getting the 36”! Podium Archer is doing $360 shipped and $300 in store
