I have the new UL duplex with cargo panel and camp bag. Also have a few pockets added on cargo panel.

Wondering what rain cover others are using. I was thinking maybe a Kuiu medium pack cover

Any suggestions

I have a large Kuiu pack cover that weighs 6 oz. and a large Zpack pack cover that weighs 1.5 oz. Needless to say, my Kuiu pack cover is pretty much obsolete.

No problem, let us know what you think of it if you order one!

Thinking about getting one myself but have never used a rain cover so I am not sure I would use it if I got it.

I've never used one either, but a couple of times it sure would of been nice and if I had a blaze orange one, I'd use it wherever there is a firearm season open rain or shine!

You might check Lukes Ultralight too. 6oz seems a little heavy for a rain cover. I guess it depends on how durable of one you need.

I've tried several over the years and am done with them now. When the rain locks in on you too much water wicks in from the sides, the pack gets wet and stays wet. I just put equipment that needs to stay dry in a light dry bag or zip lock and am done with it.

X2 on the Eberlestock lightweight rain cover. I have stretched mine over an overloaded Mtn Warrior on a 26" Duplex and still had some room in it. It also fits all the way over the stock of my rifle and under the bottom of the frame when I have a rifle in the scabbard of my Rambler. And it's durable and inexpensive enough that I use it for a seat in the snow (under a sitting pad and to keep the backs of my legs dry) a "bag" to wrap up other wet gear to stuff in my pack, if my boots are dirty I wrap them in it to keep my tent clean, and of course it keeps my pack dry in the rain or if I stash gear during the day away from my tent...etc.

I agree. I also find it a little irritating and deceiving when Kuiu advertises their largest pack cover at 4.75 oz.

I was mistaken in my previous post, when I stated large pack cover. My Kuiu is the X-large and my Zpack is the largest they make. Both fit a 7500 in.³, give or take, pack.

I have the same ZPack cover that AK Troutbum is using and have been using it for 2 seasons so far with no issues. I have no issues fitting it over a SG Sky 7500 fully loaded. The thing I really hate about pack covers is that they all tend to flap in the wind.

I grabbed one of Jimmy,'s rain pack covers. At 2 Oz, and the quality stuff he makes, it was too hard to pass up. I usually don't use a pack cover since all my gear is organized in pullout and waterproof stuff sacks but it socks when your pack soaks through. Adds a tone of unique needed water weight .

those ultralite ones look pretty good. How tough are they like when you plop down a hundred pound pack in the rocks and brush? I'm running a Outdoor Research that weighs 6.4 ozs and covers my 7200+ pack fully loaded. I think it's discontinued now but it's pretty darn tough and really is waterPROOF.
