Hey all,
I am in the market for a new rifle barrel that will be a 20-22” 7saum. This is going to replace my soon to be dead 6.5prc barrel. I’m looking for a steel barrel that is under the 3lb mark. Any suggestions out there for brand and contour that will be sub MOA?
Thanks
OG

I have a fluted Pacnor Super match #4 (.338cal) that I believe was 2.9 pounds at 22” so it qould be close for you. Lilja makes some good barrels too. Both have a shorter lead time than Bartlein barrels.

Pacnor has a great weight calculator on the website for just such an occasion as you have.

Bugholes is a great place to buy barrels. Bartlein, kreiger and brux is your top 3 but there are plenty more that are also good. As it was already said there is alot more to an accurate rifle than the brand of barrel.

I'd buy this one but i'd validate with the seller that it is actually a #4 first because the specs they list for it are way off. A #4 benchmark should finish a little over 0.70" @ 20", enough for me to put 5/8" threads on it. This would be closer to a Bartlein 2b in weight but would have more muzzle diameter for threads. A 3b bartlein would be tight unless you got some pretty significant fluting I think. The brux #4 that was linked is basically the same as a bartlein #3 and I'd guess would come in a little under 3#, probably pretty close to it if you go 22"?
