I have a cooper model 52 that has a stainless action and carbon steel bolt. I was using just lighter fluid with grease on the back of the lugs and my bolt got pretty rusty using it two days In blizzard conditions. Wiped down and dried as soon as I got home but it was already showing small rust spots. Bolt is at cooper now getting refinished but I’m going to need to use something different. Extractor also got rust down behind it along with ejector plunger. I’ve used Hornady one shot gun cleaner and dry lube with good success on other rifles previously just can’t remember if I ever used it on the cooper. I don’t shoot in a ton of super dusty conditions so thinking maybe a light oil will be best or the Hornady.
