Western Whitetails

In the different areas of Western states: What are hunter number like for to species? NR tag prices and allocations? Other general info. I usually bow hunt, but getting more into firearm hunting also. Just phishing for options other than the typical "Western" species that are hunted as a NR. TIA.

You know there is a whole Magazine dedicated to this- Western Whitetails. They can get big, especially Colorado from what I’ve seen.

Now if you count Coues deer they are very popular in AZ. Availability on public land helps that. Private is a big limiter for regular whitetails.

I have kind of lost touch with what publications are out there. I have not had much time or the money to stick into magazines. I'll take a look at it though. Thanks.

CO DOW seems to be wanting to reduce the whitetail numbers on the plains due to CWD. I've hunted them since 1996 and I've never seen the numbers as low as they are now. Still some good bucks but the trend is strongly down.
