So for those that own or have owned WM bags what length did you go with for your height? I'm about 71" tall, maybe a tad under 71". So my first thought was the 6'0" bag. But a few on here have mentioned going with the longer bag for warmth. Wouldn't the extra bag area your body isn't occupying create dead air space possibly leading to cold spots? Or would that not be the case with a WM bag ...

I am going to take the plunge into a WM bag but don't have anywhere locally to try one out. How did they "fit" for length? About true to size? I don't want my feet pushed up against the end of the bag. But I usually sleep on my side anyway and with knees bent that makes me a little shorter. The bags intended purpose will be cold weather late season/winter hunts. I think I'm going with the WM badger. Its a few ounces lighter than the 20 slick and I'm sure will perform much better. My slick bag doesn't get me anywhere near 20 degrees... hence the reason for the upgrade.

You will be ok in the 6' 0" bag if you don't want any extra room. I'm right at 72" and recently got the 6'0" model. There isn't much extra room but there is enough room, if that makes sense.

I have been using a 6'6" bag prior to this one and that has its issues as well. It was too long and the end would always end up twisted and folded around my feet and had to kick it off.

Personal preference. I got the WM on ebay so didn't have a choice on size. Haven't slept in it yet but getting into it I don't see it being an issue.

What Jmez said. Im 6 foot in a 6 foot bag. Its snug but managable. If I could do it again Id probably go with the extra length and width just because Im a wrestless sleeper. You wont go wrong with the 6 foot bag but the longer wider will definitely give you some room to move. That is my opinion. Some folks dont like being bundled to tightly me I wear my puffy when its cold in my bag which keeps my upper body warm But some folks dont like to layer up when sleeping. All is going to be your preference and how you sleep and such.

I'm 5-9 and have the 6 foot WM Antelope. I can stuff my pants, a long sleeve top and my puffy in the bottom of mine when it's cold and still not feel cramped if that helps any.

I am 6'1" I only laid in one in a local store. Tried the 6' model because that is what they had of the bag I was looking at. I fit but not with much room no pressure on the foot box though and I was not crammed in the hood either. I am opting for the long bag because I sometimes prefer to stuff my clothes in the bottom.

6' with a 6'6" WM here. When I buy my next WM, it'll be a 6' model. I bought my bag without the chance to check one out and didn't want to chance it being too small or tight, but if I had it to do over again, the 6' would be enough as the 6'6" has too much extra in the toe box for me. A 6' model will also be a couple ounces lighter if that matters to you.

6'0.75" ha ha very close to 6'1". I have two WM bags at the 6' length and they fit perfect, no extra space but no cramping or compressing either.

5'10 with 6' Sequoia here and there is plenty of room for boot liners, water bottles etc but it is a semi-rectangular bag. Regardless of bag choice I would highly recommend splurging and getting the Gore Windstopper version. My girlfriend has the Sequoia bag as well but hers is in windstopper and it stays so much more dry than the microfiber which is especially important for multi-day winter camping when tent condensation is inevitable.

i'm 5'11 and the salesperson talked me into the 6.5bag.

it is very roomy for me in this config. he said the room to stuff things is a nice feature. i have yet to test it in some super cold temps (i just got it), but from a fit and comfort standpoint, i like the bigger bag. all my other's have been 6 footers, and i never liked how my feet felt pressed against the bottom. i think i end up slightly bending a knee and it adds to the claustrophobic aspect. with the added room, i can scooch up and down into the bag.

he said he stuffs his puffy jacket in the footbed with hot water bottle.

I'm 6'1" and I sleep in a 6'6" AlpineLite. It is plenty long to put clothes in the foot. I've been in several different WM models that are 6'0". They were long enough to sleep on my back without compressing the head or foot box. You'd be fine in a 6'0" if you don't want the extra length for storing clothes, etc.

I'm 6'01" also and also have the Alpinlite in the long version. I stuff clothes in the bottom of it but I'm also restless and like the extra room and width in the shoulders with the Alpinlite.

Problem with having the long bag is most tents are short so it always brushes the tent wall.

Very true! Many a shelter has gone down the road in the last few years because it looked long enough on paper but I bumped the ends in reality. Don't know how truly tall guys make it work!

At 6'1" I can squeeze into some regular bags lengthwise but my big size twelve feet will have my toes compressing the loft. Instead I run a long (Megalite and Apache) and pull the bottom up to my feet and the extra material goes to the middle instead off the end. I don't move around much so it stays put.

as for the length question...I cannot help you there. I am 6'8"...and I go with the 7' bag from them--plenty big for me.

Just for thought--I have a WM Badger with overfill--it is absolutely w/o a doubt a great bag.

I have used it in temps at or near zero and it has performed very well.

Super warm and I just love the feel of down.

I'm 5'11" and own two 6' WM bags. Plenty of room. IMO getting a longer bag just means unnecessary weight and space to heat up.

Windstopper does resist exterior moisture a bit better than the Microfiber, but at the expense of greater accumulation of moisture within the bag in sub-freezing temps due to substantially reduced breathability. Not a good bargain in my book. Windstopper also adds a decent bit of weight.

I bought my first W M bag in the early 80s I only use it now for winter camping but it still performs perfectly. For the last few years I've used a Badger at well below the temp. rating sometimes and I couldn't be happier
