The Talon model came out this year, and it seems to check a lot of boxes. Solid action (Howa 1500,) carbon fiber stock (Peak44,) fluted, and threaded.

I’m not seeing any reviews or content on it yet. Has anyone picked one of these up?

I have one coming in 6.5 Creedmoor and have high hopes. Right around $1,150 shipped from Dahlonega Armory, seems like a steal considering the Peak 44 stock alone is around $800.

I’ll do a review/write up when I get it to the range, as it seems like there should be a lot more chatter regarding this rifle!

I liked them too but the barrel is too long to throw a silencer on even though its threaded and the flutes make cutting it tough.

I use a SilencerCo Harvester Evo on my 26” Mark V 300win, and plan to use it on this one as well (24”.) It is a bit long, but is very doable.

Some people will complain about a 24” barrel being too long; then put an 8” can on a 22” barrel lol.

I agree, I also think 22" is too long if you want to use a silencer but I guess it depends on the individuals preference and where they hunt. I have a 300wm with a 26" barrel and as much as I want to shoot it with a silencer, I never will until the barrel gets chopped.

how do you like the evo? I have one in jail currently, but it will go on a 16 inch or 20 inch rifle

Update:

Rifle is in! Scope mounted! (Razor HD LHT 3-15x42)

Hope to get it to the range this week or weekend to start testing it out!
