Has anyone tried this base/ring combo?

I am a bowhunter who rifle hunts a few weeks a year. I have an older Win Model 70 featherweight in .270 which has been a great gun for my hunting in the mountains (elk) and locally for hogs and occasionally a deer.

A few years ago I ungraded my scope to a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36. I have old Weaver rings and two piece bases. With the short tube on this scope I'm having eye relief issues and would like more fore/aft adjustability. I've made the current setup work but this past week after my annual elk hunt (successful) I realize I need to correct the eye relief issue because I'm straining to get proper shooting form and it's exaggerated with heavier clothes.

The Warne setup looks like it would give me the adjustability I want and still keep with the lightweight characteristics of the rifle.

Any thoughts or experience with the Warne combo?

(I'm in my 60's and don't plan on any rifle changes)
