Heading out tomorrow morning for my first elk hunt and have been watching the weather non-stop over the last several weeks and the temps aren’t dropping as I assumed they would. For you folks who hunt early season elk is there a temp range that is “too hot” for elk to get up and move? I’ve always hunted deer and antelope first couple weeks of September typically in Wyoming and while weather was hot it seemed it didn’t affect them as much.

Will typically shut them down much earlier in the morning in early season but can make for good hunts an hour before dark as they can tend to get fired up as the cooler air comes on and they get out of their beds,
