Wall Tent Setup and DIY Options

I went camping the other day and decided to make a short movie about how I set up my wall tent, and some DIY stuff to go along with it

Pretty sweet set up! Did you buy the canvas body then make the frame?

I saw this on YouTube a few months back. Didn’t know it was you haha. I use a similar diy setup. Old tent with a conduit traditional pole frame I made, and it has the third center pole holding up the ridge pole. Mine’s a 14x16, so I’m not sure it would hold up in the central Montana winds unless I had it tucked away in a protected area. Any experience with your setup in some strong winds (30-50 mph)?

I like to install the guy ropes at pretty steep angle if wind is predicted. That way the eave poles are cinched down and the wind cant lift them.

Good job, cnelk. I DIY'd a bit different. I welded up internal frame fittings, and cut 3/4 conduit for poles. Easy set up solo. Build the frame and leave one side wall legs off. Put the canvas over the frame, go inside and lift the wall and stick the legs on the fittings. All that is left is to guy it out, tarp it and hook up the stove..... I also built my stove from a cut-down 15 gallon drum and a Sotz round door stove kit.
