Does anyone out there besides the random one or two threads have any real experience or info as far as overall build, quality, reliability, and more importantly for me, glass in low light? In general, I very much dislike vortex. But the 6–36 and the 4–24 have actually caught my eye due to the claims of how great they are. But the 4–24 has very few reviews. I want to know if it’s still lacks behind a 56 mm low light or if it’s as good as they claim which is it competes with some of the best 56 mm objectives for low light? Which obviously is very difficult to do if not impossible. I’ve heard the glass on the new GEN three‘s are close to Kahles, ZCO and TT. Obviously not there, but one would have to really look to see differences. Kind of hard to believe again. Anyhow, looking for some real world experience.

I don’t have any experience with the Gen 3 razors but I have no doubt they are optically impressive. I used to have a 3-18 razor and it was one of the best scopes to look through I’ve ever experienced. Granted, I’m not rich enough (nor are my friends) to look through any alpha glass outside of the stores.

I would think the 44mm objective will give you plenty of light transmission up to about 5-7x. Your eye cannot dilate enough to use much more light than what the exit pupil would be at that magnification. That combined with an illuminated reticle should work fine in low light. But Vortex puts a thin reticle in their scopes; you will probably need illumination to see it at low light.

If the g3 4-24 is as durable/reliable as the g3 6-36 it won’t pass a drop evaluation, if that’s important to you. https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/vortex-razer-giii-6-36x56mm-field-evaluation.306499/
