It was an OTC bowhunt; the rest of the guys in my group were muzzleloader hunting. Definitely a lot more elk seen than last year, even though the rutting action was far from the action you'd normally see depicted on TV. The entire trip, our group saw probably twice as many bulls as we heard bugles, with no bugling action at night. It made for a tougher hunt with terrain too thick to glass from distance. I'm already making plans for the next hunt, which will probably include building up a couple preference points for a limited draw hunt and focusing on getting a mule deer tag in the meantime.
