I am looking for a vest and have 2 in mind. the arc'teryx atom lt and the kuiu guide vest. I also just looked at black diamond access hybrid vest. Does anyone have any feedback or thoughts?

I am waiting for my arc'teryx atom ar jacket (120g), mountain hardware compressor hooded jacket (100 g) and the north face red slate jacket (100 g) to arrive to see which fits best and that i like. Looking to maybe add a vest into the mix, but without adding too much bulk. I am moving away from soft shells and going to use rain gear as my last layer.

I love my Kuiu guide vest. Do not have any experience with arcteryx gear. I like the chest pocket access while wearing your pack. It compresses fairly small. Although the super down zip t compresses way smaller. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

Arcteryx atom gear is very nice, but they are made of a very loud material.

That said I'd buy another one, just not for hunting. Fishing, scouting and backpacking it's an awesome piece.

Had a atom lt pullover, sold it like an idiot. They run small I'd reccomend to size up, and I don't size up on anything normally.

I don't have the atom vest, but I do have the atom lt hoody and really like it. Arcteryx fits very differently from mountain hardware. Arcteryx is an athletic fit - chest bigger than waist on jacket. Mountain hardwear - waist and gut bigger than chest on jacket.

good thing there are bunch of sales. Ordered the Atom LT version from Amazon, few sizes to see how i like that too. I'd hate a too loud of an outer layer but will see how they go.

The Atom LT fabric isnt terrible. As far as packability and versatile use I'd opt for the Atom LT Vest. Much lighter than the Kuiu vest and packs down much smaller.

Oh I am liking the Atom AR. Light face fabric is flat no sheen and rather quite. 120g arms, 60 and 80 arms. I found the TNF red slate vest is 100 grams. Now big debate to stick with synthetic or treated down for winter. To me down always seems warmer than synthetic. Lke my eddie bauer acsent 5+oz treated.

I have the Arcteryx Atom vest, it is amazingly warm for how light it is and fits well under my Kuiu Guide jacket. For sizing you will probably want one size smaller then what you normally wear, I wear 2xl jacket but a 2xl vest was loose but xl fits great and not to tight with no restriction.

I have been using the Atom AR jacket and i is nice. The face fabric has no shine and is rather quite. It is more of a brushed face than a shinny slippery fabric. I am still working on a vest, debating The North Face Red Slate Vest 100g(heatseaker) vs the Atom LT vest 60g (coreloft). I have an Eddie Bauer treated down vest and jacket as well as LLbean treated down jacket. Trying to find the right combo and for the colder/wetter times, I am considering the synthetics and even though the down is treated.
