Has anyone used these? Any insights? My son-in-law is going on his first ever hunt of any kind and is looking at these and wants some input.

Been wearing the breeze for probably 10 years

older versions more reliable out of box fit.Now make sure to try them on in store or get from rei for possible return if they don’t fit well. True to size once you get a pair that fits. The non waterproof are fantastic for hot weather. The gtx are ok for damp grass or a chance of shower- but heavy rain will soak them quick.

Longevity is so so and last me about 2 seasons of heavy use with plenty of miles then I start to feel it in my knees/shin (think knowing when running shoes are done).

why I stick with them. The out of box tennis shoe feel... for still hunting and sneaking around the timber they flex super well and keep me supported even with a heavy load. And when rei has there sales I can pick them up for $100.

I have other boots for specific hunts but these are my go to for 90% of my hunting.

I'll echo the above. The vasque breeze was my first foray into the higher end hiking/backpacking boot. They were a great boot and extremely comfortable, but for me they were like a gateway drug.

Try them on in person. Loved them for years, but the goretex usually wore out around 6 months in, and the fit wasn't quite good enough for my feet. I'd get really tired feet by the end of a day. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a boot that doesn't require any break in period.
