Hey guys i'm new to the forum and it seems like there is a lot of good knowledgeable people on here. Hopefully at some point i'll be able to contribute and help someone as well. So I got lucky this year and drew out on the Utah wasatch archery elk hunt. Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share some knowledge on the unit. I live in northern cache valley and have never been in this unit. I've been looking over maps and google earth and have a plan on an area that looks promising (hopefully). I have a pretty stacked work schedule this year and it doesn't look like i'll be able to spend much time scouting so any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance to those willing to share their time and Knowledge.

Send me a p.m and I can help out some. Have helped a few friends on rifle hunts and muzzle loader hunts. I have hunted spike only in the unit some, but the elk move a lot and start heading to their rutting areas so it can change depending on if hunting early or toward the end of your hunt.

I had that tag a couple years ago. Drew it last minute when somebody turned theirs in. It was my first ever elk hunt and I shot my first bull.

Be patient and don't get frustrated with the number of hunters. Timing of this hunt is rough. The rut won't start ramping up until just a few days before the season ends. Don't bank on that last week either because the rifle hunters and their big groups of spotters will show up early and start bombing around all over trying to find them a bull.

I had a Nebo tag 6 years ago and that last week was the worst of the hunt. During the first you have all of the cow and spike hunters, then the last week you have more with the one guy that has an early rifle tag and the 100 friends that are spotting every canyon for him. As long as you get away from the crowds you will have a fun hunt and that is all that matters.
