UT Bear Hunting Season question

Have my near future hunt narrowed down to the San Juan's for a Fall Spot and Stalk. But... I noticed they have 2 season choices:

#1 8/13-9/26 & 10/29-11/17
#2 10/4-10/25

The 1st one allows hounds except for the last part of September (9/17-9-26) although there are only 5 tags total so can't be that many dogs running around!

I guess my question is which dates should I go for? Would their behavior be much different between these dates? Would earlier or later be better for spot and stalk?

I think you could do either. There are places on that mountain that are loaded with bears that the hound guys avoid like the plague.

I'm starting to lean towards the 10/4-10/25 season cause all the General Season Deer guys will be out of there

You'll catch the rifle deer hunt at the end, but most of it is a premium LE unit, so there will only be a handful of hunters.
