Trying to figure how warm this piece is, and how breathable it is for insulation. Just get a feel for where it would fit in I don't have the ability to try it on anywhere.

Any user comments or you can PM me impressions. Thanks

If your going to use it for high activity i would say you will sweat.I have the jacket and would not hike hard in it it is very windproof not so breathable. If your looking for core warmth while hiking hard i would go with a soft shell vest or that Kenai jacket or Patagonia nano air vest.

Not necessarily looking for something to hike in just want to get a feel for how heavy or light a piece it is. I have a kratos primaloft jacket which is a great chill buster but certainly not a heavy piece of insulation and not very windproof.

Was thinking vest instead of the jacket as I can layer under a softshell and also use tree stand hunting in a IWOM suite.

I've got one and used it a bit this past season as another layer for treestand hunting. It's pretty warm to me and I don't think I'd move much in it. For sitting and being used as a layering piece it isn't too bad.

Can't comment on the vest but i have the jacket and absolutely love it. Stops the wind. Will keep the water off of you for a while. Nice and toasty. I bought mine mainly for glassing. Id love to use it for whitetail but im not sure it is quiet enough. I feel like i would need a little wind to get away with drawing.

I would plan to size down and layer it under a softshell or my wooltimate jacket for whitetail

I may do the same. I could probably even put my springer over the top because i think the arms are a much quieter fabric.

I picked my uncompaghre vest up in a small to use as a layer piece under all of my medium outerwear. Specifically in the early season under a rain jacket.

I have used it in the late season here in Kansas sitting in a treestand with a halstead fleece under and a sanctuary jacket over. I'm naturally a cold person but this was a warm set up.

I tried the springer over my jacket and ther is too much of the louder fabric still exposed. I guess i would need a full layer over it.
