Paratarp has served me very well, I would like to get a supertarp or megatarp though to see about getting a little more room out of my shelter. Either one is pretty darn light.

I will be running the paratarp (with Tigoat stove) the next month in Colorado. I've done a few "warm weather" runs with it, but am looking forward to putting it to the test.

I ordered a Tarptent Stratospire 1 this summer and am happy with it. 36 oz., two big vestibules, allowing you to access your tent from either side, and uses your treking poles. Good to have multiple uses for your gear.

I like the looks of the para tarp and the other ultra light shelters but I need to have poles included because I always like to have my trekking poles on me to help navigate steep terrain. Does the para tarp have a door to enclose it for bad weather

Yeah if you get the annex, i have the annex and it works but I wish I had the supertarp when I am using the annex cause it is tight, they sell a pole set with them if you don't wanna use trekking poles.

Tarptent moment dw. Carry it without the inner bugnet/nest and it's under 2lbs and only requires 2 stakes.

I'm leaning towards the pyra 2 man tipi in cuben fiber im.just not sure of the durability from what I understand, I talked to John at bear paw and he said it is durable and repairable doesn't tear like silinylon but will puncture and can be permanently repaired with cuben fiber tape

I've heard the same. I might add it's very noisy if there's any wind or rain.
