Finally converging on a truly lightweight rifle build that's still deadly out past 900 yds (beyond my hunting range).

Specs:
16.5" Proof 7 twist 22 Creed chambered by Manzella Precision with .169 freebore for heavies
Lightweight/milled Tikka short action
Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 MIL-R
Airlock Nano suppressor
19oz (!) Carbon McMillan MC3 A5 stock from Ten Second Precision (formerly High Desert).
High Desert bottom metal (fits perfect, zero shims)
4" Arca rail from SRS

Just over 7.5 lbs with a full mag:

Nice flat and wide forend and still carries nice in the hand.

I was shooting 77 TMKs at 3200 fps, but got in a shipment of the new 88 TMKs.

Quick ladder test

No pressure signs at 40 gr of H4350 (loaded about 25 thou off the lands with nearly optimal bullet seating) giving me about 3020 fps.

I think I'll load up 5 at 40.0 gr and 5 at 40.2 gr just to see if I can squeeze out a touch more speed.

Great looking build, love it.

Couple questions on that stock.
-Did you order it from 10 second precision? I don't see it listed on their website.
-I am not used to seeing McMillan stocks lightweight, let alone 19oz. How do you order a 19oz MC3-5? Call them up and say I want the 19oz MC3-5?:ROFLMAO:

Yeah I've bought a lot of stuff from Thomas, so sometimes he'll give me a sneak peak of some of his products. My understanding is that this was a test batch of 3-4 stocks from McMillan and were designed to perfectly fit the High Desert/10 sec bottom metals. So pre-SKU, but I think he had at least one or two still on hand. The weight absolutely blew me away and honestly I didn't believe him when he told me 20oz initially. Doesn't feel flimsy at all. The texture on this green one is cool too, sort of like pumice stone.

Give them a call if you're interested - I'm sure they'll place a larger order soon to stock on the website.

Does the stock weigh 19oz as pictured, or is that weight pre butt-pad ? If that is as pictured, that is an insanely light setup.

I believe it was 19oz full up with 3 sling studs, though I swapped in the arca plate and removed the studs. It's stupid light. I'll have to weigh it again bare, but it cut about a full pound off the weight compared to my HNT26 arca folder setup.
