Same gun, same shell with 575 choke. The 575 outperformed the 585 significantly in mine

Is it to tight at 20?

The blue tape is 2" wide so the pattern is about 8-10" wide . I don't feel like that's too tight for me. You're really not going to notice much difference in a 20 yd pattern between a 575 and 585 anyway. You have to get pretty drastic on your choke to really open up a 20 yd pattern with TSS from my experience.

This bird was just a shade over 20 yds. No issue, but you can tell by his head I didn't center him up and probably caught him with the edge of the pattern.

TSS changed the game. Misjudged the distance on a bird a couple of years ago shooting #9 TSS out of my 20 gauge CZ AT Redhead with a Carlson's .575 TSS turkey choke.

Bang flop, stoned dead. Stepped it off and ended up being 65 paces (I'm 6'2" for reference). Not something that I would intentionally do again, but it gave me enough wiggle room to kill him. Only a few pellets in the upper portion of the breast. On that note though, I killed one with TSS inside 30 yds and was picking shot out of the thighs and legs. Head and neck were straight up and down (ie not walking). Don't know how that happened.

I am running a 20ga now for the second year. TSS has changed the game. I would feel very comfortable taking a 40 yd shot all day long. Apex Ninja 81/2’s are incredible

I run a .555 IC in my 870 compact. It’s tight. May switch to a .562 some day.

Everything you read on oldgobbler.com. Nobody is sticking with 12 gauges everyone moving over to 20 tss. 12 is becoming a thing of the past with turkey for the die hard a

True, because of TSS shot, when a 20ga or even a 410 will get the job done with today's TSS loads, why waste the money on more expensive TSS loads for a 12 gauge?

I have both a 12 and 20 and really don't use the 12 anymore. Shoot TSS 9's from the 20, and if I use the 12, I use a good lead load like Longbeards. I personally cannot see shooting more expensive TSS out of a 12 gauge as compared to 20-gauge TSS prices. 20-gauge TSS prices are high enough and can't see paying more for the 12-gauge TSS, and the fact is 12's with TSS is overkill and a waste to me.
