Trijicon reticle confusion

I cant wrap my head around trijicon reticle options in the credo line. It seems like the capped turret version have standard duplex and the exposed turrets have BDC. If you have exposed turrets do you need a BDC? I understand for windage but capped turrets really benefit from a BDC. The huron has capped turrets and a BDC but no illumination. They are so all over the place it is hard to find one that checks all my boxes.

I am currently riding on the same ship as you. I'll be watching to see what others have to say

You’re not the only one. I’ve the Credo 3-9x40 with the mil-square reticle. I like it. Enough so that I want to find another Trijicon scope with higher magnification with the same reticle? Not sure they even offer that?

Thats exactly it. All scope companies could use some reticle improvements. But trijicon has them and doesnt use them right

Im maybe confused. What exactly are you looking for that you arent finding? They do offer some hashed reticles in the capped credos, so maybe Im misunderstanding what you are looking for?

I think ***MOST*** people who get capped turrets have no intention of shooting past mpbr, and specifically dont want a hashed reticle. Also in a 2fp scope hashed reticles are less useful, especially above 10x or so.

Scopes with turrets generally get shot at longer range, where having a tape measure in your reticle is more useful for wind, but also for measuring misses, practicing, and having solution options (dial or hold). Cant say I love all of trijicons reticles on the dialing scopes, but in principle I think the above disticttionn is why they offer what they do.

The mil square is just a standard mil-dot reticle. Great reticle, but a number of companies make the same thing, although it seems to be less popular than it used to be…lots of companies have stopped offering it altogether. Its available on several trijicon scope models with capped turrets and is a great option.

OP, my Credo has an MOA tree and capped turrets. Check out the Ascent line also, same internal mechanics as the other two but also no illumination.

This has an exposed turret. Im talking about a reticle like the ascent mentioned or the huron line but with some illumination. Admittedly I have not explored the ffp models very deeply. Im not a fan of big magnification so by the time I'm on subtensions max mag is already established. After I posted I found another thread that was better worded than mine. Thanks for the replies

The Credo 3-9x40 has MOA and other reticles that'll work for you, illuminated. Some would argue and MOA is better than BDC because you don't know if they line up anyway.

Too muxh screen time dreaming is scrambling my brain. Took the "in stock only " filter off and found a bunch of what I'm interested in. Apparently I'm not the only person that likes that style. Good thing its just dreaming right now. I guess other sliders will keep reading the OP and comment on how dumb I am. Deserved this time
